The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip recently on drug activity in the Grove area. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, 13th District Attorney’s Office Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, Wyandotte Nation, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Miami Police Department, Grove Police Department, and Oklahoma Probation and Parole conducted a surveillance operation on Harold Murphy at his residence in close proximity of a school in Grove. Harold has a previous criminal history with charges involving drugs and is currently on probation. On June 17 a search warrant was served on his residence. Harold was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm AFCF, Possession of a Firearm While on Parole, and Possession of Methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a School. The 13th District Attorney’s Office Drug and Violent Crime Task Force consists of members from the various law enforcement agencies in Delaware and Ottawa Counties. Sheriff Beck has a great working relationship with the task force. He and several deputies of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office are members of the task force. Sheriff Beck is committed to fighting drugs in our county and is currently trying to get two K-9 units that will greatly improve the ability of the sheriff’s office to find illegal drugs.
