The Connors State Cowgirls get back on the right foot Thursday evening after the 92-54 defeat on OCAC opponent Western Oklahoma College Lady Pioneers and move to 13-4 on the season. The Cowgirls jumped out to a commanding 32-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Cowgirls hit 5 out of their 12 3 point shots in the first quarter alone capped off with a Yoni Releford half court make to end the quarter. The consistent play didn't stop from there as the Cowgirls went into the half up 58-28. Cowgirls had three players in double digit scoring and were lead by freshman Haitiana Releford with 28 points, followed by freshman post player Kayley Turner with 19 points and freshman point guard Carrigan Hill scored 18 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Cowgirls were freshman guard Kylie Eubanks with 9 points, sophomore guard Adrian Crockwell with 8 points, freshman point guard Samantha Shanks with 6 points, and sophmore guard Zoe Nation with 4 points.

"I was pleased with our overall team performance this evening, and how we stuck to our game plan." said Cowgirl head coach Jamie Fisher.  "I felt like coming into this game we needed to switch up our defenses more between man and zone, which gave Western problems into not getting into an offensive rhythm early, along with attacking the basket in transition and using our inside out game to help open up our shooting," said Fisher. "This was a good chance to get back working on ourselves and putting another W in the win column and get ready for another big game here on Monday evening against our conference rival."

The Cowgirls will be in action again inside Melvin Self Fieldhouse on Monday evening Januray 23rd at 5:30 pm against A&M rival NEO (8-8).
