The Connors State Cowgirls came into tonight's contest looking for some payback on the Lady Cougars from earlier in the season, and did not disappoint. The Cowgirls improved their record to 16-6 with a 89-61 victory over the visiting Redlands Lady Cougars. The Cowgirls entered the half with a slim 32-30 lead, and then stormed out in the 3rd quarter scoring 30 points and extending their lead to 62-41. All 9 Cowgirls scored in tonight's game with 4 of the Cowgirls finishing in double digit scoring lead by freshman Haitiana Releford with 21 points and sophomore Adrian Crockwell with 21 points as well, followed by freshman Kayley Turner with 14 points and Samantha Shanks with 13 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Cowgirls was sophomore Zoe Nation with 8 points, freshman Carrigan Hill with 6 points and Kylie Eubanks, Gabriela Oviedo and Kya Wilson all scoring 2 points.
" I was really pleased with our overall defensive performance this evening. I thought first half our shots didn't fall because we didn't get to attack the rim as much in transition and open up our three point shooting." said Head Coach Jamie Fisher "Second half we did a great job of mixing up our defenses and keeping Redlands out of rhythm and limiting them to one shot a possession which then triggered our offensive transition game that allowed us to get easy baskets." said Fisher
